Here are a few photos taken in Ireland. I've been there four times (twice in 1993, once in 2000 and in 2006). I love this country and its people. They welcome foreigners very warmly and they are so nice ! I've got a few friends in Ireland : Brian, Joe and Alan.  I will never forget their "pub crawling" or the concerts we went to see in Dublin.

A few sights in Dublin. Dubliners love coloured houses and doors.  If you like Georgian houses and painted doors, go to Merrion Square.

The ha'penny bridge (they used to pay a toll : half a penny) over the Liffey river. In the background we can see Dublin castle and the top of Christ Church cathedral.

Trinity College is a beautiful place. It is a university and a museum : you must visit the Long room and see the Book of Kells (written by monks in the middle ages!). We went there with 69 pupils from France !

This is St Stephen's green shopping centre. We arrived 2 days after St Patrick's day, that's why there are so many green signs. As it was raining outside, we enjoyed the warmth of this place.

Christ Church Cathedral and Dublinia  (a museum about life in Dublin after the Viking invasion). This cathedral is so well-carved !

Outside Dublin the landscapes are gorgeous ! Have a look ! You can see landscapes in the Connemara region (north west) or near Glendalough (south east).

Don't forget that Ireland is an island : here are a few photos of "sea-side Ireland" (a few boats in Wexford, a beach in Donegal,  the Giant's causeway in Ulster).

There are also many big lakes like Lough Neagh in Ulster. You come accross sheep and cows everywhere in Ireland. Here are a few examples.

Now three of my favourite sights :  a photo of an old man on a horse-drawn coach on the Aran Islands, a photo of the old Abbey of Glendalough and a photo of Kilkenny castle.
